Podium
Podium decks are generally open-spaced structures defined as an externally weathered elevated platform over an unconditioned (unheated or soundproofed) space. Podium slabs work as large open spaces for parking, gardening, and retail. In addition, they work as a solid separation between parking and living areas offering sound and fire protection.
Podium spaces are exposed to weathered conditions and, at times, a heavy vehicular movement which makes surface protection and waterproofing indispensable for such surfaces.
Podiums are primarily divided into two types: –
Landscape Podium Waterproofing– Landscape Podiums become a ground-level oasis leaving users oblivious that beneath their feet are several floors of commercial or residential amenities or car-parking. They are mainly becoming a part of urban residential spaces. All waterproofing solutions need to be robust and durable for such areas to restrict root damage and prevent penetration or damage caused by standing water.
Hardscape Podium Waterproofing– Hardscape Podium includes inert elements such as pathways, parking spaces, driveway as well as fountains, seating areas, and patios that offer aesthetic value. Concerning these surfaces, the load applied to the hardscape surface can be transmitted, leading to damage to the concrete surface. Hence, the waterproofing coat acts as a distinguished barrier, enabling more extended surface durability.

Wet Areas

These areas, therefore, may lead to leakage and cracks, which can reduce the life of the structure. Hence, these areas need to be waterproofed with complete care. Terrace waterproofing requires the concrete substrate to be adequately protected and a sloped surface provided for adequate water drainage, and the waterproofing envelope should also protect the parapet walls.
Terrace waterproofing has always been done with very traditional methods. Typically, systems like Brickbat Coba, China mosaic, Lime terracing. These systems have been offering waterproofing with some insulation against heat. Still, they may face issues because of heavy loading on the slab, which may lead to cracks, and we can cater to the same by offering alternate sustainable solutions.
Overhead Tanks Waterproofing
